Wincantons' Premier Outdoor Recreational Facility

Wincanton Sports Ground occupies approximately 40 acres of land situated on the outskirts of Wincanton. It is within easy reach of the Town's amenities and the A303 and it's only a few miles from several main line railway stations.

The site is split by natural hedgerow, retained to enhance the atmosphere and to encourage wildlife. Below is an aerial view of the site taken during the 2007 Discworld Jamboree by Neil Perry. More pictures available at www.perryscope.com

Currently the Sports Ground offers the following facilities:

• 7 football pitches, including 4 full size, 2 youth, and 2 mini that are all gravel banded, or sand slitted for superior drainage.
• 4 all weather floodlit tennis courts
• 1 tennis rebound wall
• Six rink outdoor Bowling Green
• 7-a-side floodlit synthetic rubber crumb Astro Turf
• 1 Pëntaque ball game
• 20 allotments

The Maddocks Pavilion provides:

• 5 pairs of changing rooms and showers.
• Toilets
• Office accommodation.
• Kitchen
• Bar
• Social Area
